How to Choose
the Right Flooring Installer?
Choosing the right installer can make or break your flooring project. We’ve compiled a list of essential questions to ask — so you can hire with confidence and avoid any unpleasant surprises
01
What’s your price per square meter
for installation?
Not all installers charge the same. Rates can vary depending on the type of flooring, siteconditions, and their experience
02
Do you provide
a detailed written quote?
Flooring costs typically include per-square-meter installation, scotia or skirting (charged per meter or per m²), and, if needed, leveling compound. Additional charges may apply for removing old floors (tile, carpet, vinyl, or timber), waste disposal, and any hidden or optional fees depending on site conditions.

03
What happens if
my subfloor is uneven?
Your floor might look flat, but once the old tiles, vinyl, or carpet come off, surprises can happen. The surface underneath (called the subfloor) could be uneven — and that causes all sorts of problems later.
Do you use the
correct adhesive & underlayfor this floor type?
For most hybrid flooring: Underlay should be waterproof, attached (built in with the flooring) and acoustic-rated.(no adhesive required)
05
Can I see photos of
your past installations?
Good installers take pride in their work, so don’t hesitate to ask for before-and-after photos, close-up shots of finishing details around doorways, skirtings, and trims, as well as reviews from recent clients.
06
Do you remove and dispose of
the old flooring?
If you're replacing tile, vinyl, carpet, or timber flooring, make sure to confirm whether the installer will handle removal and disposal, and whether any additional costs apply.
