In many cases, yes. The surface must be level and structurally sound. As a general guideline, the floor should not vary more than 3mm over a 3-metre span. Levelling may be required if this tolerance is exceeded.
Is hybrid flooring truly waterproof?
The boards themselves are waterproof, making them ideal for living areas and kitchens. However, they are not a substitute for structural waterproofing membranes in wet areas such as shower recesses.
Will I need expansion trims in open-plan areas?
All floating floors require a perimeter expansion gap. Higher-grade Stone™ Core hybrid boards offer improved dimensional stability, which may allow larger seamless areas depending on layout and product specification.
